제1편: “에덴 붕괴”
2159년 6월 7일, 에덴 행성
에덴은 원래 인간이 꿈꾸던 유토피아였다. 푸른 대기, 무한한 자원, 인공지능과 인간이 공존하는 완전 자치 도시.
그러나 이상은 오래가지 않았다. 개척 32년 만에, 인류는 또다시 전쟁을 시작했다.
에덴 내륙 북쪽, 폐광지대에 위치한 사령부. 제8기동사단 ‘아이언스텝’ 소속 중위 에이든 카터는 무전기를 붙들고 있었다.
“제13 구역, 응답하라. 적 침투 확인됐는가?”
기계음 섞인 잡음만 돌아왔다. 그는 이를 악물고 헬멧을 눌러썼다.
“지금 이 상황에서 통신 두절이면, 거긴 이미…”
옆에 선 인공지능 병사 모델 A.R.T-07, 일명 ‘아르트’가 말했다.
“통신 패턴 분석 완료. 강제 차단 흔적 있음. 확률 87.2%로 적 침입 확인.”
Aiden은 총을 들고 나섰다. 13 구역은 도심지에서 멀지 않은 중계 기지였다. 만약 거기가 뚫렸다면, 도시 전체가 위험해진다.
적은 누구인가?
에덴에서 분리 독립을 선언한 네오휴먼 세력, ‘노바 테라’였다. 그들은 유전 조작으로 만들어진 인류의 새로운 지배 계층이었고, 자신들이 “진화의 끝”이라 주장하며 기존 인류를 ‘구세대’라 불렀다.
노바 테라는 인간 군과 AI 병력의 공존체계를 인정하지 않았다. 그들은 감정을 제거한 순혈 전사 집단을 키워냈고, 지금 에덴을 파괴하려 하고 있다.
13 구역 – 잔해 속에서
에이든과 아르트는 피탄 된 벙커 안으로 들어섰다. 내부는 엉망이었다. 사람은 없고, 바닥엔 피와 탄흔뿐.
“생존자 수색 모드. 시작.” 아르트의 눈이 붉게 빛났다.
“혈흔 발견. 벽 뒤편 2미터. 생체 신호 미약.”
에이든이 벽을 부수고 안으로 파고들었다. 거기엔 한 병사가 기절해 있었다. 피범벅이 된 어깨에는 ‘13 중계소장 – J. 레인’이라고 쓰인 명찰이 보였다.
레인이 숨을 몰아쉬며 입을 열었다.
“그들은… 그냥 사람이 아니야. 마치 생각을 읽는 것처럼 움직였어. 총을 들기도 전에, 이미…”
그는 더 말을 잇지 못하고 눈을 감았다.
다시 사령부로
에이든은 그날 밤, 사령관에게 전했다.
“우린 지금까지, 단순한 반란이라 생각했습니다. 하지만 그들은 전투를 훈련한 게 아니라, 전투를 태어났습니다. 아예 설계부터, 우리를 죽이기 위해 만들어진 존재들입니다.”
사령관은 침묵했다. 그리고 말없이 작전 지도 위로 손을 뻗었다.
“내일부터는 방어가 아니다. 먼저 움직인다.”

그날 밤, 에덴 상공에 첫 번째 드론 편대가 떴다.
그리고 전쟁은, 드디어 진짜 시작되었다.
Episode 1: “The Fall of Eden”
June 7, 2159 – Planet Eden
Eden was once humanity’s utopia. Blue skies, infinite resources, and autonomous cities where artificial intelligence and humans coexisted in harmony.
But ideals don’t last forever. Just 32 years after colonization, humanity started yet another war.
At a command post located in the abandoned mining zone of northern Eden, Lieutenant Aiden Carter of the 8th Mobile Division, Ironstep, clutched his radio.
“Sector 13, respond. Has enemy infiltration been confirmed?”
Only static mixed with mechanical distortion returned. Gritting his teeth, Aiden slammed on his helmet.
“If comms are down in this situation, that place is already…”
Standing next to him was an AI soldier unit, model A.R.T-07, nicknamed Art.
“Communication pattern analysis complete. Evidence of forced signal jamming detected. Probability of enemy infiltration: 87.2%.”
Aiden picked up his rifle and moved out.
Sector 13 was a relay outpost not far from the urban zone. If that area had fallen, the entire city could be compromised.
Who was the enemy?
It was Nova Terra, a separatist faction of post-humans that had declared independence from Eden.
Genetically engineered and enhanced, they claimed to be the final stage of human evolution, referring to baseline humans as the "Old Generation."
Nova Terra rejected the coexistence of human armies and AI forces.
Instead, they bred emotionless, pure-blooded warriors—designed for one purpose: to destroy Eden.
Sector 13 – Among the Ruins
Aiden and Art stepped into the bullet-ridden bunker. The inside was wrecked. No signs of survivors—only blood and debris.
“Initiating survivor search mode,” Art’s eyes glowed red.
“Heat signature detected. Two meters behind wall. Weak life signal.”
Aiden smashed through the wall and found an unconscious soldier. Blood soaked his shoulder, where a nametag read:
“Relay Commander – J. Lane.”
Lane gasped and weakly opened his eyes.
“They… they weren’t human. It’s like they could read our minds. Before I could even raise my weapon, they…”
He couldn’t finish the sentence. His eyes closed for the last time.
Back at Command
That night, Aiden reported to the commander.
“Until now, we thought this was just a rebellion. But these aren’t trained soldiers—they were born for war. Designed, from the start, to kill us.”
The commander remained silent, then slowly extended his hand over the operations map.
“From tomorrow, we stop defending. We strike first.”
Final Line
That night, the first drone squadron rose into the skies above Eden.
And so, the real war finally began.
